Marjorie L. (Dodge) Rice

Woolwich- Marjorie “Marcia” Lorraine Rice, 79, of George Wright Road died peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.

     She was born in Bath on July 14, 1939, a daughter of Anthony S. and Margaret (Reilly) Dodge.

     She attended a one room schoolhouse in Woolwich and attended Morse High School. She married Maurice Nelson Rice in January of 1957.  She lived in Boothbay Harbor, Florida then moved to Beacon Street in Bath where they started their family. 

     She enjoyed her cats; she was an avid lover of all animals. She loved gardening, Elvis and treasured her family and friends.

     She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Nelson Rice in 1973, a brother, David M. Dodge, a great granddaughter, Saphira Sue Rich in 2012.

     She is survived by three sons, Marc A. Rice and his former wife Cathleen of Bath, Michael W. Rice and his wife Donna of Phippsburg and Mitchell P. Rice of Woolwich, one daughter, Melanie R. Caldwell of Bath, a sister, Toni Brawn and her partner Lloyd Delano of Wiscasset, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

     A graveside service will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Riverside Cemetery in Woolwich.  A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Marcia will follow at 130 George Wright Road, Woolwich.
