Beverly Henrikson Obituary

 Bath - Beverly Anne Henrikson, 84, of Bluff Road died Peacefully, Friday, August 17, 2018 at her home where she lived for over 60 years.   

She was born in Bath on October 14, 1933, the daughter of wonderful parents, Harry Burton and Carrie Belle (Christopher) White.

She grew up in Bath and attended Bath schools.  She graduated from Morse High School in the class of 1952 but was an honorary member of the class of 1951 whom she went all through school with until polio struck her in 1949.  On May 15, 1954 she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Henry M. Henrikson.  She was employed by the City of Bath from 1952 to 1996, where she was the first female City Clerk.

She was a member of the Maine, New England and International Town and City Clerks Association (Ret), AARP, Maine Association of Retiree, INC., United Methodist Church. Chairman for the Dorothy Shorette Scholarship Committee for years, Secretary to the personnel service commission for 40 years, Secretary to the Old Bath Customs House, board of directors, since 1978 to present.  Elks, Chamber of Commerce and Bath Business Assoc. citizen of the year in 1996, Recipient of the Rotary’s Paul Harris Fellow award, Ethel Kelley Award and honorary Co-chairman of the 4th Annual Blue and White Classic Golf Tournament for the Morse High scholarship fund along with Bill Reed.

She loved reading, knitting, shopping, going out to eat and watching her children and grandchildren in their activities.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry M. Henrikson on March 3, 2003 and her sister, Dorothy White Maines and very special Niece, Carolee Maines Van Valkenburg.   

She is survived by two sons, Kris Henrikson and his wife Kathy of Bath and Kerry Henrikson and his wife Heather Bailey of Bowdoinham, one daughter, Kimberly Parsons and her husband Michael of Woolwich, 6 grandchildren, Gregory & wife Allison, Kathryn and Keegan Henrikson, Jillyan Pace & husband Joseph, Emily and Evan Parsons. Also, her many nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her closest friends Phil and Mary Jane Jackson of Nashua, NH and many, many more close friends and relatives of whom she thought so much.

Many thanks to all the CHANS/Hospice nurses, PT, OT and home care aids, Terina, Amy and Dr. Carl DeMars for being so good to her and for making it possible for her to stay at home surrounded by people and things she loved.

 A celebration of her life will be held at Maine Maritime Museum, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 3:00pm. A gathering of family and friends will follow. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Topsham at a later date.

 In Lieu of flowers Beverly requests you take a special friend out to lunch in her memory or do a random act of kindness for someone less fortunate.
