Claire B. (Bailey) Gardner

Claire Bailey Gardner, 85, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at her home in Wiscasset.

     She was born to Oscar D. Bailey and Lillian F. Blair Bailey the youngest of three daughters.

     She graduated from Wiscasset High School Class of 1951.   After graduating from high school she lived in Texas where she met her husband Billy T. Gardner.  They were married in 1953 and lived in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina and Georgia, before returning to Maine in 1982.  They lived in Wiscasset for 12 years before returning to live in Louisiana. While living in Maine Claire worked in the Legal Office at BNAS.

     In 2017 Bill passed away and Claire moved back to Wiscasset.  Claire was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Marilyn Bailey Farnsworth, and her husband, Bill Gardner.

     She is survived by her sister, Jean Bailey Sutter of Wiscasset, nieces, Susan Sutter and Toni Farnsworth Laughlin (Will) and nephews, David Sutter of Wiscasset and Jerry Farnsworth of Texas, also her Jack of All Tradesman, Ralph Hilton of Alna.  She also leaves great nieces and nephews who loved her very much.

     Per her wishes there will be no Services.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Midcoast Humane, 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, 04011.
