David Hart Obituary

Dresden- David R. Hart, 79, of Gardiner Road died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

     He was born in Concord, MA on June 14, 1939, a son of Frederick R. and Lois C. (Eisenhauer) Hart, Jr.

     He graduated from Norwell High School in Norwell, MA and after working for John Hancock Life Insurance and Halliday Lithograph Company, entered the U.S. Army, serving in Germany.  In 1968 he moved to Wiscasset and worked for the Satellite Corporation. He co-owned and operated The Stacy-Hart House and The Milk Shed where he met his wife.  He married Roberta A. Hussey in 1974 and was employed for the Wiscasset School Department as a custodian for several years then for the Dresden School Department as the head custodian until his retirement in 2001.

     He was a past member of the Wiscasset Fire Dept. and was a special officer of the Wiscasset Police Dept.  He was a former board member of the Kennebec River Rail Trail, a member of the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum in Alna, where he formally served as a director.  He was also a board member of the Old Narrow Gauge Trail in Randolph.

      His family was very important to him.  He is survived by his wife, Roberta A. Hart of Dresden, son, Tim Hart and his wife Morgan of Orrington, daughter, Carrie McEneaney and her husband Ian of Bath, brother, Robert Eisenhauer and his wife Andrea of Land O’Lakes, FL, four grandchildren, Logan, Ezekiel, Paige and Finn, many nieces and nephews.    He was predeceased by one brother, Frederick R. Hart III.

     A celebration of life will be held in the summer.  Memorial contributions may be made to WW&F Railway Museum, 97 Cross Road, Alna, 04535.
