Eleanore C. (Baranowski) Holland

 Bath- Eleanore C. Holland (Ellie), 79, of Green Street died Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

     She was born in Somerville, MA on November 15, 1938, daughter of Captain Walter E. and Frances Baranowski.

     She graduated from Portsmouth High School and earned her Bachelor Degree from the University of New Hampshire in Education.  On June 1, 1964 she married Gerald F. Holland of Bath. She taught at Morse High School until 1966 and in 1980 became a teacher at St. John’s Catholic School in Brunswick until 2012. She continued her career in education as Director of YMCA care at Coffin School through 2018.

She was an active patron of St. John’s Parish in Brunswick as well as St Mary’s in Bath. She was an active member of the City of Bath Zoning board.

     She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

      She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Holland on June 12, 2006.

     She is survived by four children, Walter Holland, wife Lisa and children Ian and Lucy with great-granddaughter Victoria McIntosh, of Bath, ME, Matthew J. Holland, wife Teresa and children Ryan and Hailie of Northwood, NH, Daniel F. Holland his wife Marie and children Sarah and Jack of Tampa, FL, and Rachel F. Wallace, her husband Todd and daughter Jordin of Phippsburg, ME.

     A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick.  Burial will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 383 US Route One, #2C, Scarborough, 04074 or www.alz.org.
