Marla Eve Bragdon

Brunswick-Marla Eve Bragdon, 66, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home in Brunswick after a long courageous battle with cancer. Her family and close friends were by her side.

     Marla was born on September 11, 1952 in Biddeford to Stewart C. & Marjorie E. (Peck) Bragdon.

     In 1973 she graduated from Concord School of Nursing in Concord, NH. On September 22, 1973 she married Roger J. Duchesne. She worked as a nurse for 41 years and retired from Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick after 29 years of service there. She earned CNOR & CPAN certificates. She was known by colleagues as the “favorite”, very compassionate & loving.

     Marla enjoyed traveling, reading, singing, the ocean, animals and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

     Marla is survived by her husband James F. Crawford of Brunswick, her son, Christopher J. Duchesne & wife Stephanie of Phippsburg, her daughter, Kelley L. Duchesne of Brunswick, mother, Marjorie B. Chase & husband Phillip of Cumberland, sisters, Julie Leavitt of Portland and Melanie Rutstrom & husband Dante of Blountville, TN and several nieces and nephews and close friends.

     Marla was predeceased by her father, Stewart Bragdon, sister, Lynne Delcourt, and two grandbabies, Chandler & Brady Duchesne.

     Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the North Woolwich Methodist Church in Woolwich. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the fellowship hall. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Westbrook at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid Coast Humane, 190 Pleasant Street, Brunswick, 04011.
