Antoinette Taranto

Quincy, MA – Antoinette (Auntie Toni) Taranto passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025.

     She was born in Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy on September 29, 1945, a daughter of Domenico and Anna (Suffoletta) Candeloro.  She immigrated from Italy to Quincy, MA in 1966 and married James Taranto.  She was employed as a hairdresser at Shea Performance for many years in Quincy where she met many amazing friends.

     She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her best friend and sister Susan Schwartz (Candeloro).

     She is survived by three brothers, Fred Candeloro and his wife Marie of Kokadjo, Maine, Biagio Candeloro and his late wife Consuelo, Nick Candeloro and his wife of Greenville, Maine, and one brother-in-law, Robert Schwartz Sr. and his wife Gail of Quincy, MA.

She is also survived by her nieces/ nephews, Robert Schwartz Jr. and partner Israel DeMenezes of Stowe, VT, Lisa Keane and her husband Brendan of Plymouth, MA, Vicky Iglesias and her husband Mark of Bradenton, FL and Domenico Candeloro and his wife Erika of Middleboro, MA. Auntie Toni adored and deeply loved her great nieces, and they brought joy to her life every day, Ayla and Sawyer Keane, Aria Iglesias, and Gabrielle, Mila and Julianna Candeloro.
