Bath - Caroline “Carrie” L. Placey, 58, passed away on

Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Maine Medical Center in Portland due to complications from open heart surgery.

She was born in Portland, Maine on September 16, 1967, a daughter of Tim and Gladys (Doughty) Placey. She graduated from Greely High School in Cumberland and attended the

University of Maine. She was employed at TD Bank in Lewiston as a fraud manager. She met Joe Hahn, the love of her life in March 2008. She was employed in the hospitality industry working at Romeo’s All Star Pub in Yarmouth, the Bounty Taverne and J. R. Maxwell’s in

Bath. Since 2016, Carrie was employed at Edward Jones Investments (Jeff Labbe) in the old Bath Customs House as a Branch Office Administrator. In her youth, she was a member of the Rainbow Girls.

Carrie enjoyed music (modern country, Abba, Barry Manilow), paint nights, and binge watching crime or medical drama. Most of all, she loved her amazingly supportive friends, Holly Bruhn,Keith Hinds and Diana Doyle (and Jasper and Lil), and the members of “The Book Club”, which never actually got around to discussing any books.

She was predeceased by her mother, Gladys Placey (2021). She is survived by her father, Tim Placey of Peru, ME., her longtime companion, Joe Hahn of Bath and one brother, Glenn

Placey and his wife Liza of Windham, an aunt, Christina Placey, and a niece Kate Bruce. She loved meeting up with her cousins during holiday gatherings at the home of

Rick and Cathy Placey.

Visiting hours will be from 12 noon to 3 PM on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Burial will follow at Orr’s Island Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be across the street from the cemetery at the

Orr’s Island Schoolhouse. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carrie’s name to Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
