Five Islands - Christine E. Plummer, 92, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025 at home.
She was a lifelong resident of Georgetown. Christine was born in Bath on February 5,1933, the daughter of John D. and Stella (Powers) Williams Sr.
She attended Georgetown Schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1953. On June 16, 1953, she married William F. Plummer III. Christine worked for the bank in Bath and went on to become Town Clerk and Tax Collector for Georgetown. She worked side by side with her husband. She built Sheepscot Bay Boat Co. They traveled the country in several different motor homes, they even drove their motor home on the beach in Mexico. She had a house in the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas. Christine fed every kid in the neighborhood and sent clothes to the kids in the Virgin Islands and Bahamas. Everyone knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her husband William F. Plummer III on November 10, 2006.
She is survived by five sons, William F. Plummer IV and his wife Linda of Georgetown, Eric Plummer of Georgetown, Carroll Plummer and his wife Traci of Georgetown, Glenn Plummer and his wife Michelle of Georgetown, Robert Plummer and his wife Susan of Bath, two brothers, John D. Williams and Carl Williams both of Georgetown, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Christine was a valued member of the community for many years, we will never forget her. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at the Five Islands Baptist Church. A celebration of her life will follow at the Georgetown Community Center. In leu of flowers donations may be made to the Georgetown Fire Department, P.O. Box 199, Georgetown, ME 04548.
