Madison – David Michael Robert, 68, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at The Lamp Memory Care Center in Lisbon with his wife by his side.
Dave, as he was affectionately known as, began his life in Lewiston on April 1, 1956, a son of Roger P. and Hope (Timmins) Robert Sr. He was a curious, adventurous child and often joked about being a “Dennis the Menace”. In 1976 he graduated from Morse High School where he was on the wrestling and football teams, excelling in both.
Dave spent most of his adult life working towards his long term goal of owning and operating his own business. His hard work and dedication paid off when he proudly opened Dave’s Auto Repair, first in Bowdoinham then later moving to Richmond, Maine. He also spent several years working as a bartender.
Dave enjoyed many hobbies. He was an avid dart and pool player. He had a love of nature and loved to fish, kayak, and spend time outdoors. Dave was a champion arm wrestler and an amazing story teller. His quick wit was unmatched. Everyone who met Dave was immediately drawn to him and many consider him to be a lifelong friend. He will always be known as the life of the party with his mesmerizing blue eyes that would sparkle every time he smiled.
Dave not only had physical strength but showed immense resilience throughout his life. He saw the world with caring, gentle eyes and brought happiness and laughter to those who were blessed to have known him.
He was predeceased by one brother, Gil Robert, two half-brothers, Leland Hamilton and Daniel Robert.
He Is survived by his wife, Rochelle Robert of Madison, his sons Adam M. Robert and Roger M. Robert, his daughters, Amy Gray-Gonzales, and Haley Lapointe and his step-son, Joshua R. Wolf along with thirteen grandchildren whom he absolutely adored. His extended family includes his big brother Roger P. Robert Jr. his baby sister Cathleen Robert-Rice, three half-brothers, Frank M. Hudak Sr, Shawn Robert and Paul Robert, half-sister, Dorothy Barker one step brother, Alan Pomerleau, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends; all of which he loved and cherished.
We will miss his laughter, jokes, colorful stories, his “I love yous” and his most amazing bear hugs.
