Frank R. Mitchell

     Bath -  Frank R. Mitchell, 70, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. 

     He was born in Bath on May 22, 1955, a son of Almon and Ida (McDorr) Mitchell.  Frank graduated from Mt. Ararat High School and on August 23, 1974 he married Betty Ann Smothers.  He was employed at Lee Tire in Topsham, Goodyear Tire in Topsham, L and A Tire in Brunswick.  Frank was employed for the Town of Brunswick and later at Bath Iron Works retiring after 27 years as a shipfitter. 

     Frank enjoyed Nascar, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, snowmobiling, camping and dancing. 

     He was predeceased by his parents, one granddaughter, Jordan Bailey, two brothers, Robert Mitchell and Mark Kerzner.

     He is survived by his wife, Betty A. Mitchell of Bath, two sons, Mikey H. Mitchell of Bath and Frankie L. Mitchell of Bath, one daughter, Samantha Atwater and her husband Chris of Litchfield, three brothers, Alan Mitchell and his wife Carol of Brunswick, Ronald Mitchell and his wife Donna of Bath, Edward Mitchell and his wife Tami of Pennsylvania, one sister, Amy Nelson of Florida, 3 grandchildren, Alison Mitchell, Caden Mitchell and Maddox Mitchell, two sister in laws, Alice Smith and her husband Tom of Charlston, S.C. and Theresa Smothers and her companion Les Holbrook of Richmond, many nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.

     A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 15 Riff Raft Road in Phippsburg where a gathering will follow until 8 PM.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.  Arrangements are by Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath.  Condolences may be made online at www.DaigleFuneralHome.com
