Dresden - Gloria J. Barnes, 83, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at her residence.
She was born in Bath on February 21, 1943, a daughter of Frank G. and Beatrice A. (Rideout) Allen. She graduated from York High School moved back to Bath in 1962. Gloria was employed at Health Tex for nine years and later at Bath Iron Works as an administrative technician, retiring after twenty nine years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wiscasset. Gloria volunteered for Life Line and for Everyday Blessings in Florida. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and a caring and giving person to everyone she met.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Lisa M. Barnes, one grandson, Gauge Barnes, one brother, Frank Allen Jr. and one sister, Lorraine Pinkham
She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Yanni and her husband Carroll of Topsham, one son, Shawn Barnes of Wiscasset and his partner, Michele Horne, one sister, Alice Adams of Dresden, four grandchildren, Terrell “TJ” Edgerton Jr., Yvonne Washington, Jessica Rock and Ridge Barnes, 6 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the Overlook Farm, 568 Gardiner Road, Wiscasset. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Dempsey Center, 17 High Street, Lewiston, 04240 Condolences may be made online at www.DaigleFuneralHome.com
