Gloria J. (Simpson) Furbish

Brunswick-Gloria Furbish (Simpson), 74, died peacefully at Mid Coast Hospital on October 13, 2020 with family at her side.

     Gloria was born in Biddeford on September 23, 1946, the daughter of the late William Paul and Theresa Simpson. 

     She grew up in Camp Ellis.  She attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy in 1966. 

     In her young adult life, she spent many years traveling around the world as an Army wife while raising three daughters.  Along the way, she held many jobs but her most loved job was her years spent at Bookland in Saco. She was an avid reader.

     Gloria is survived by her husband of 28 years, James Furbish of Brunswick. She has three daughters, Brigit Zdon and her husband Robert of Ham Lake, Minnesota, Monique Morin of Saco, and Denise Huff and her husband Kevin of Greer, South Carolina. Gloria has four stepchildren, Lisa Furbish, Jim Furbish, Christie Furbish and Jennifer Furbish. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Cameron, Stacey, Nate, Collin, Kelly and Madison.  

     She is preceded in death by her brother, William (Bill) Simpson and grandson, Travis Gallant.
