Wiscasset – Kathryn J. Seigars, 63, of Heritage Lane passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026.
She was born in Damariscotta on September 28, 1962, a daughter of Carlton Simmons Jr. and Carol Either. Kathy graduated in1981 from Cox High School in Virginia. After the end of her first marriage with John McCormick in the mid 80s she moved back to the Midcoast area, where she started waitressing at the Galley restaurant and Bath McDonald’s. She eventually ended up at Bath Iron Works as a Painter and meeting her next husband James Seigars Jr. and having their son Joshua. She would spend the next 30 years waitressing and cooking at many restaurants in the Wiscasset and Boothbay area including Taste of the Orient, Fisherman’s Wharf, Wendy’s in Brunswick after its opening, Reed & Reed, Nichols NAPA, Big Al’s Super Store, Target in Topsham, Wiscasset Speedway, Reny’s warehouse, Wiscasset Quick-stop, Clipper Mart and Wiscasset Shaws.
Kathy enjoyed her plastic canvas needle point, scrap booking and shooting pool whenever she could, on top of the countless hours she would put into her flower gardens. Kathy is known and loved through out the Midcoast area for her wise crack attitude and ability to put a smile on everyone around her. She has become a staple in all the lives she has touched over the years.
She was predeceased by her parents. Carlton “Junior” Simmons, Carol Either, and Uncle Barry Either.
She is survived by one son, Joshua J. Seigars and his partner Alyssa Dunton of Wiscasset, her stepfather Jole Busler, two brothers, Dana Busler and Jerry Busler, four half brothers, Jody Busler, Jason Busler, John Simmons and Nathan Morong, one half sister, Jennifer Busler, one grandson, Ezra Bruce Seigars, one step granddaughter, Yuna Olson, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other close friends that were considered brothers and sisters by her.
A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a later date to be announced by her son Joshua Seigars. Arrangements are by Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Condolences may be made online at www.DaigleFuneralHome.com
