Georgetown - Linda S. Plummer, 68, passed away at her home on March 15, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and her pups.
Linda was born in Bath, Maine on October 6th, 1957, to Russell and Patricia (MacFarland) Stodder. She attended Bath schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1975.
As a teenager working at the Dairy Joy, she noticed a young man who drove by often on a motorcycle, with his hair flying, and decided she was going to figure out who he was and meet him. That man was William F. Plummer IV, Billy, and she DID meet him. They were married at the Grace Episcopal Church on April 8, 1978, with a lovely reception at Linda’s parents’ house on Farrin Street with all of their friends and family. They moved to Five Islands where they lived in several houses before building and settling in their current home in 1983. Their loving marriage has served as an example to all of us.
Linda knew from a young age that she was meant to be a mother, spending many years at home with her kids, giving them an amazing childhood. Along with her own children, she mothered all of the rest of the children as well - whether it was cousins, her children’s friends, coworkers - there was never a child that Linda didn’t mother. She stepped into the role of Mimi with ease and delighted in time spent with her grandchildren. They are very lucky to have had her as their Mimi.
Her guidance and love will be missed by many “kids”.
Linda worked many places over the years, including Friendly Ice Cream, Applebee’s, and most recently, the Georgetown General Store. Linda valued the lifelong relationships made with her customers and especially her coworkers, who became more like family.
Linda excelled at gardening, and she and Bill spent hours every season on her beautiful gardens and window boxes. Her lilies and dahlias were famous; she and Bill delivered bouquets all around town every year, as well as zucchinis.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, siblings Mark and Diane Stodder, and grandson Alden Kelley.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of almost 48 years, Bill; daughter Angela Mead and her husband, Jeremy; son William Plummer, V; and daughter Nicole and her partner, Chris Hawkes. She is also survived by brother Russell Stodder; sister Bonnie Malsch and husband Ken; sister Lori Harper; sister Janet Schlecht and her husband Carey; her cherished grandchildren Patrick Mead, Hayden Kelley, and Elizabeth Mead; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Services for Linda will be held at the Five Islands Baptist Church on Saturday April 4th at 1 PM, followed by a gathering at the Georgetown Community Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Coastal Humane Society. Condolences may be made online at www.DaigleFuneralHome.com
