Brunswick – Linda M. Rau, 76, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
She attended Bath schools and Morse High School in Bath. She was employed at Congress Sportswear for many years. Linda later worked at Bath Iron Works, retiring in 2012 as a Preservation Technician. On June 5, 2010, she married Daniel P. Rau.
Linda enjoyed playing cards, her trips to Las Vegas visiting with family, and playing “any game of chance.” She dearly loved her dogs, Keisha, Boggie, and Benny who are in heaven. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and never forgot a birthday or special occasion. Her love, kindness, and unwavering support were the foundation of her family, and she will be remembered for the warmth and compassion she shared with everyone who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Allen and Velma Swain Sr., and her sister, Gloria Kingsbury.
Linda is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Rau of Brunswick; her four daughters, Melissa Kaler and her husband, Ronald, of Bath, Sherry LaRochelle and her husband, Neil Jr., of Lisbon Falls, Cindy Wright and her husband, Bruce, of Edgecomb, and Denise Hill and her husband, Martin, of West Bath; her stepdaughter, Amanda Ely of Albion, Maine; her two stepsons, Shain Rau of California and Matthew Rau of Bath; her brother, Allan Swain Jr. and his wife, Kathryn, of Edgecomb; six grandchildren, Brittany, Mariah, Ryan, Kelsey, Joshua, and Neil III; two great-grandchildren, Brett and Cole; four step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath. Entrance to the cemetery is off Oak Grove Avenue between the ponds.
A gathering of family and friends will follow after the burial, at the Chet & Barbara Swain Hall at the West Bath Fire Station.
